According to the airline, a Delhi-Srinagar flight operated by SpiceJet had to make an emergency landing at the IGI airport in Delhi on Tuesday due to a false alert in the cockpit. According to a statement released by the airline, “On April 18, SpiceJet B737 aircraft operating flight SG-8373 (Delhi-Srinagar) returned back to Delhi as the AFT cargo fire light illuminated in the cockpit,”

SpiceJet stated that the light was later turned off as a result of efforts made by the captain. The airline also stated that before to landing, all operational metrics were seen to be in normal ranges.

“The light went out a short time later as a result of the activities made by the skipper. After that, when the AFT cargo was opened, there was no evidence of fire or smoke, and based on the initial investigation, it was discovered that the alert was incorrect,” the statement stated.

According to the report, the plane made a successful landing, and the deplaning of passengers went according to plan.

However, according to a source, a major emergency was declared for the SpiceJet flight that was headed to Srinagar from Delhi. There were 140 passengers on board the flight.

“A full emergency was declared for the Delhi-Srinagar flight that was operated by SpiceJet on Tuesday at 10:40 in the morning. The flight successfully returned to IGI airport and landed without incident, according to the source.

He also mentioned that the airplane had been put into parking.
